An applicant missing the content-knowledge or literacy assessment is issued a ONE-year Induction or one-year Non-Renewable Professional certificate and must satisfy those assessments during that year before the certificate can be extended four more years; a missing special education course must be completed before the first renewal. Educators applying by reciprocity do not qualify for Provisional certification.
