Don't let "enacted" mislead you. Oklahoma has passed the OT Compact but had not started issuing privileges as of 2026-09-27, and the commission publishes no go-live date. Until it does, the only way to practice in Oklahoma is a Oklahoma license through the Oklahoma State Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision (Occupational Therapy Advisory Committee), and the endorsement steps below are the whole process.
Oklahoma has ENACTED the OT Compact (listed as enacted on the Commission's compact map) but is NOT yet issuing privileges ('Not Yet' on the Commission's Before You Apply page, with the state privilege fee and jurisprudence listed as TBD). Relocating OTs must get an Oklahoma license by endorsement. OTs are licensed by the State Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision on the recommendation of its Occupational Therapy Advisory Committee; there is no standalone OT board. Applications go through the Board's online licensee/applicant portal; the Board launched a new licensing database on June 23, 2026. Once a complete application and Form 5 (Verification of Supervision) are received, an endorsement applicant may receive a temporary authorization (formal letter) to practice for up to 90 days under the supervision of an Oklahoma-licensed OT (435:30-1-4(5)). An applicant who has not worked as an OT in the year before applying may be called for a personal interview. Licenses renew annually by October 31.
